POWER TECHNOLOGIES will Provide Temporary Power Supply to the Olympic Venues at the Sochi 2014 Games
At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum POWER TECHNOLOGIES has been unveiled as the temporary power supplier to the Sochi 2014 Games. The Russian company has received the status of Official Supplier to the Olympic Winter 2014 Games in the category of "Temporary Electricity Generation and Services". An agreement has been signed by the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee President, Dmitry Chernyshenko, and POWER TECHNOLOGIES CEO, Sergei Sapozhnikov.
According to the agreement, the company will provide services for the design, installation and commissioning of temporary electrical networks for the Olympic venues at the Mountain and Coastal Clusters, the Olympic Park, the Olympic villages and the media centers at the Sochi Games. To do so, POWER TECHNOLOGIES will use both their own and rented electrical equipment, including 120 diesel generator units with a total capacity of more than 100 MW, 800 kilometers of power cables, more than 70 transformer substations and 2000 electrical switchboards.
The company's generators will also be used as a reserve supply source in case of an emergency situation. POWER TECHNOLOGIES experts will also be responsible for providing technical service.
President of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee Dmitry Chernyshenko, marked:
